I'm starting to dream again. Not day-dream or building sand castles in the air! But to dream. It's been such a long long time since I dream and have this certain hope and pride in me. I have always wanted to be a diplomat. Every since my secondary school days when I was so fascinated with social studies. I remember the times when I'm taking the mrt train home, carrying this file with me in my all glowing yellow uniform. And yes, I feel that I really love maths and social studies and at times literature. I may seem like a nerd or something to you all. But really, that was who I was and still want to be.
Ying Ci messaged me and he asked me, If I would to choose between biology and maths, which would I choose. I replied "Depends on the course outline. Would not take written theory maths! But then again might take literature. I am so diverse." Now I have a reply for him. Just to put things into perspective, perhaps this topic arised because I was then currently attending a biology lecture. Anyway, I think I do have a reply for him. I would like to do accounts in a firm which like provide health services or construct health products for people in need. Firstly, it can satisfy my liking towards numbers. And working in such a firm is purposeful. Like being a doctor is purposeful. You're like helping people improve their quality of life and perhaps making a difference in their lives. And the job would just be perfect if the company do send me overseas for short-term attachment or work. Then I can fulfill my "diplomatic dream" and yes, interact with people from all walks of lives and learn from them, the arts side of me. Dreams are dreams. But they're good. Dreams are good.
Hmm, let my tell you more of my thoughts. When was it. Yar it was last friday that I went out with a dear friend of mine to watch "Charlie and the Chocolate factory". You know which part I like most? The part when Willy Wonka asked Charlie if he would go to his factory and work but the sacrifice would be that he would have to live his family behind. Here comes the best part. Charlie replied that his family mean the most to him and no, he would not leave them. Know what are my thoughts? Yes, perhaps in the future, I would want to instil this certain sense of family pride in my children. That family is important and I would want my family to stick through thick and thin together. That's what I told Vivien when I jogged with her on tuesday when she asked me certain questions. Of course we discussed about other things. But that's another story for another time. Yupz.
I'm still under the "growing up" phase and there's still a lot for me to learn and overcome. Yupz.
